David Rutherford is the Captain on board M/Y TOUCH and is from Australia. David spent his earlier years working on the Southern Great Barrier Reef in his families’ business involving power catamarans and sea planes. David then traveled overseas to pursue a career in the luxury yachting industry where he has over 100,000 sea miles logged, and has extensively cruised the Mediterranean, Bahamas, Caribbean, Mexico, and the West Coast of the USA. David has over 10 years experience in the yachting industry, has worked on vessels from 70’ to 185’ in length, and has gained vast charter experience in doing so. David has had a life long passion for the ocean and is an avid water sportsman. With David’s wealth of sailing experience all over the globe, he has intimate knowledge of some of the finest anchorages around, and will ensure a safe and extremely pleasurable trip. David has an MCA 3,000 Ton Master’s License.
Rotation Captain Andrew Law
Born on the East Coast of Australia, Andrew began sailing at a young age, and through the years has raced and sailed around much of the Australian coast as well as most of the oceans of the world. After completing a 5 year circumnavigation on his families 53 ft steel ketch “Kittiwake”, Andrew has pursued a commercial career in yachting. During the last 14 years Andrew has captained a number of motor and sailing yachts, chartering in, and exploring all the major oceans of the globe. Andrew brings his wide experience to the fine charter vessel “Touch” and is looking forward to the upcoming seasons working with the current longstanding, happy and professional crew of the yacht. The ocean has not only provided Andrew with a challenging career, it has also provided and instilled in him a love of other aquatic pursuits including diving, fishing and surfing.
When he feels the need for some solid ground under his feet, a game of golf or some leisurely mountain biking provide welcome diversions from the “Big Blue”.

Julie Wilson is from New Zealand and is the new chef on M/Y TOUCH. Julie has been in the yachting industry for over six years and has cruised the waters of the Mediterranean, Bahamas, West Coast of America, Alaska from Costa Rica to French Polynesia, and the Pacific Islands. In her creations, Julie brings together exotic and traditional flavors. Great care is taken in sourcing fresh, seasonal produce to make your stay a gastronomical experience you won’t forget. Her specialties are Mediterranean, Italian, and Asian.
