CAPTAIN NATIONALITY AMERICAN
Christiana grew up in San Diego, California. Her childhood revolved around the water; sailing, diving, surfing, windsurfing, and waterskiing. Almost every summer was spent on her family’s sailboat. After graduating from UCLA with a degree in Economics she decided to travel and have some fun working on sailboats. Fifteen years later the yachting industry is her career. Christiana served as the 1st Mate on board for 10 years she obtained her captain’s license 7 years ago. For 6 years she then served as the 1st Mate and the relief captain for Atlantic Crossings and other passages. In November 2006 she became the Captain on board Big Eagle. She is also a dive master and enjoys guiding the guests on dives.
CHIEF ENGINEER NATIONALITY ROMANIAN
Nick was born and raised in Romania. He is a graduate of the Romanian Engineering University. He has served as chief engineer for over twenty years, and has over thirty years engineering experience. He has worked on commercial ships in the Romanian fleet initially, moving onto Wind Jammer Cruises, and then to the yachting Industry. There is not much that Nick is not capable of fixing. He is invaluable here to us on the Big Eagle where he has served as chief engineer of over seven years.
1ST MATE NATIONALITY COSTARICAN
Jose was born and raised in Costa Rica. He graduated from the University of Costa Rica with an Agricultural Engineering Degree. 10 years ago decided to explore the world and while travelling got introduced to the wonders of the sea which changed the course of his life. After 5 and a half years in the yachting industry still can’t get enough of sunshine while wetting his toes in the ocean.
BOSUN NATIONALITY AUSTRALIAN
Duncan had been on the seas for a little over six months before joining the Big Eagle crew more than 2.5 years ago. Born in Singapore he moved with his family to Perth, Australia, at the age of five. His appeal for the ocean stems from childhood boat adventures, as well as a hype for wake boarding. After completing a Bachelor in Business Degree, Duncan fuelled his need to explore through backpacking Western Europe. It was in France, after working in ski resorts that he found his new career in yachting. This Aussie hopes to see the world and all its oceans while cruising and working his way across.
DECKHAND NATIONALITY AUSTRALIAN
Storm was raised in the Southwest of Australia. He has a passion for surfing and anything to do with the water which has leaded him to a career on yachts. After finishing school, he started a commercial fishing career which has given him just under 10 years of boating experience. His love of boats has given him an opportunity to work on BIG EAGLE and he looks forward to his time on board.
DECKHAND NATIONALITY AUSTRALIAN
Daniel is from the Gold Coast, Australia. He taught Math and Physical education for two years at home before venturing overseas. He is a state champion lawn bowler, coached by Mick Malloy, he represented Australia in the 2006 commonwealth games winning a bronze medal in the mixed doubles. His passion for water sports and the love of the ocean has seen this young go getter become an invaluable member of the Big Eagle.
CHEF NATIONALITY AUSTRALIAN
Tamara is from the lovely Sunshine State, Queensland Australia. She was Culinary trained in Brisbane and has worked as a chef in some of the best restaurants in Australia. Tamara then fell into the yachting industry and has been here for 6 years now working on some of the busiest and largest yachts around. She has a real passion for her food and is always trying out new ideas and combinations. During your time onboard you will experience food from all corners of the world so you desire. Please feel free to come and visit her in the galley and have a chat about your favorite dish. In her spare time you may find her hiking up a cliff somewhere of in an obscure position on the yoga mat.
CHIEF STEWARDESS NATIONALITY NEW ZEALANDER
Meilan was born and raised on a sailboat traveling around Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia before settling in New Zealand to complete her education. She graduated from college with a degree in International Business and Marketing. Her move into yachting seemed only natural considering her yachting background and the love of the sea. Mei has spent time in the Mediterranean, on The Great Lakes, Bahamas and in the Caribbean on charter yachts. She is a highly organized leader of the interior crew. She will ensure your comfort during your stay with us. Mei enjoys snowboarding, tennis, diving, and sailing.
STEWARDESS NATIONALITY AMERICAN
Kimberly recently packed away her snowboard and picked up a briefcase for a go in the real estate industry. But her passion for adventure has regained control and she eagerly awaits the thrills sure to come on the Big Eagle. With previous travels taking her to over 35 countries on 5 continents, she excitedly anticipates the new sights and sounds abound on the sea. She is currently inventing a sport that combines her two favorite past times - hula hooping and snowboarding.
STEWARDESS NATIONALITY AMERICAN Freddie was born and raised in Northern California. After high school she moved to San Diego to attain a BA in Spanish and Italian. Her love of different cultures, languages and travel led her into the yachting industry where she found her first job on board the Big Eagle. Freddie welcomes all forms of new adventure into her life and is enjoying her latest one here on the Big Eagle.
