Jason Douglas - Engineer / Mate
One might say, Jason's calling for life began before he could walk! Originally from one of Australia's most dynamic areas, the magnificent Gold Coast. Jason's fondest childhood memories are along the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean; sharing time with his parents at one of the Queensland's original boat clubs. Jason developed an acute passion towards the ways of the ocean and the delicate ecosystems surrounding the sea.
Determined to create a career in the boating world, Jason financed his first boat and his commercial license by working as a trained culinary chef for 15 years. Upon purchasing his first boat, Jason worked as an contracted government employee, patrolling shark nets along the edge of the Gold Coast; eventually becoming captain of a local fishing charter vessel exploring the Pacific Ocean.
Jason left the world of Australia and set out on an exploration across the waters of the Americas to broaden his knowledge of navigation. Combining his knowledge with his desire to continue into the profession world of yachting, Jason now considers the Atlantic Ocean to be his adoptive home. He has spent many seasons catering to charter guests and private owners across the waters of Florida, through the Bahamas, down to the Caribbean and into the exhilarating harbors of New York.
Perhaps what is even more remarkable than his infectious love for life and playful sense of humor is Jason's excitement for the outdoor world. He loves spear fishing and scuba diving, mountain biking and swimming and continues to delight people around the world.
