Greek, Born in 1971. Jiorgos began his sailing career when he was only 9 years old racing Lasers, Optimists and 4.70s. When he turned 19 he decided to make it his profession. Since then he has sailed extensively the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, the Bahamas, the NE coast of Africa, Pacific coast of Central America and has crossed the Atlantic 8 times. Jiorgos has been featured in magazine articles (Nov. 1996 Coastal Cruising Magazine, Feb. 1998 The Boat Magazine) for stories about sailing the Greek islands and Yacht Maintenance, respectively. In 2001, he was decorated with the First Class Medal of Honor by the Minister of Merchant Marine for his assisting role in the rescue mission of passengers from the Ferry Boat Samena. His experience over the years ranges from running his own sailing school, using his own boat for sailing lessons and charters in the summer, working as a Base Manager for Charter Companies being responsible for maintenance and coordination of the charter boats, and traveling half around the world on sailing yachts for private owners. He has worked as well as a captain on a research vessel for whales and dolphins in the Mediterranean and Atlantic Ocean. Today he is an extremely well experienced Sailing Yacht Captain.
Jiorgos is a very enthusiastic person interested in philosophy, science, history, and many more things. He likes to cook (he is famous for his Sushi preparation with the fresh catch), read, loves to prepare caipirinhas for his guests and does all kind of water sports in his spare time. He speaks Greek, English and has some knowledge of German and Spanish. With his open attitude he welcomes you on board like a friend and does everything to make you the most wonderful sailing vacation with the perfect mix of adventure, fun, relax, and interesting conversations.
Hostess Kerstin Weidner
German, Born in 1978. Prior to joining the industry, Kerstin spent the last years pursuing her studies in Geoecology. She completed her Master in this subject in 2003 specializing in Marine Ecology. She spent 1 year in Spain during her studies as an exchange student, participated in a conversation project in the Ecuadorian forest as an intern, and conducted her master thesis in Brazil funded with a scholarship. She discovered her love for the Sea in 2004 when she worked as a Marine Research Assistant on a research vessel for whales and dolphins. Since then she spent all her working and spare time in the sea working as a hostess with Jiorgos on different private boats as well as charter boats. She has sailed all over the Mediterranean from Greece to Gibraltar, the NE coast of Africa, Caribbean, Pacific Coast of Central America, and has crossed the Atlantic 3 times. Because of her travels and studies she speaks German, English, Spanish and Portuguese fluently and has some knowledge of Greek making her a perfect adaptable person to her international guests regarding language as well as culture and food preferences. She knows many international dishes, loves to try new recipes, and is perfect in preparing Greek Mezee or Spanish tapas for the cocktail hour. In her spare time she likes to dive, read and dance capoeira.
Kerstin is very open and friendly and makes guests feel comfortable immediately on board. She is a sailor, chef and entertainer at the same time and is a very good team with Captain Jiorgos in making her guests an unforgettable sailing trip.
Sailor Tilak Narayanage
Tilak’s tasks on the yacht include keeping the boat in a shining condition and helps Jiorgos with docking and maintaining ‘Anassa’ in always perfect conditions. He is very pleasant and quite, always smiling doing his job in the early morning hours to present a perfectly clean boat every morning to the guests of ‘Anassa’. He loves to have children on the boat and helps to supervise all the water sport activities.
