| RAINMAKER |  | | Captain: Mark Wellnitz | Nationality: Canadian | | Number of Crew 4 | | Crew Profiles: Captain Marc Wellnitz was born in Canada to German parents and grew up in the Caribbean. Thus along with English, Marc also speaks Spanish and German.
All his life he has been on the water. He began his career in Yachting in 1990 and traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean, Bahamas, Mexico, east and west coast of the USA and north eastern Canada. His passion for the water extends to most water related activities, sailing, scuba diving, wake boarding, water skiing, surfing, skim boarding and has even had experience free diving in Baja California.
Marc is married and has two young children who live in Florida.
Marc received his captain’s license in 1999 and holds his 500 GRT license, as well as many other admirable credentials. Over the past years he has run both charter and private
Yachts.
Chef Adams graduated from the restaurant and hotel Culinary School in Milwaukee, WI in 1980. During college he has worked at city clubs, top 10 restaurants, hotels and country clubs. Adams has been certified from the American Culinary Federation as CEC with 16 years as executive chef. Chef Jay was acquainted with the yachting industry in St. Croix while working at the Buccaneer Hotel. He now has been working on private yachts for almost 3 years. Areas of expertise are seafood, Mediterranean, Asian, American regional and Caribbean. I enjoy spice variations and challenges.
David Palgrave - First Mate/ Asst Engineer
David is from Zimbabwe but grew up on the coast in South Africa. He is a qualified diver and water sports instructor and loves to be outdoors with guests, snorkeling, diving, waterskiing, jet skiing, wakeboarding or fishing. Having spent most of his career on charter yachts in the Caribbean. Then moving on to a 180ft Mega Yacht sailing through the Pacific and around the Cape Horn, he has returned to the charter industry to continue his career on the East coast and Bahamian waters. David has been in the industry for over 7 years and continues to enjoy every aspect of it.
Robyne McNeil - Chief Stewardess.
Robyne grew up in New Zealand where she originally trained in the hospitality sector before beginning her career in the fashion industry. A career which lasted more than 10 years and took her to the UK where she managed a business in London before returning home to New Zealand to manage several branches of a leading woman’s designer brand.
Back in Auckland her home city ‘The City of Sails’ was where she first became interested in the yachting industry and began her new career on the 130ft Private Motor Yacht Crystal Lady. After which she moved to Newport, Rhode Island and worked as Chief Stewardess/Mate on the exclusive private 1930’s M/Y ENTICER which traveled around New England and Long Island waters.. Robyne is outgoing, friendly, enjoys the outdoors and loves to travel
