| BULLISH | | Captain: Gordon Scott | Nationality: Australian | | Number of Crew 7 | | Crew Profiles: CAPTAIN - Gordon Scott
After qualifying with an Australian Commercial Captain's license in 1987, I started on Mega-Yachts in 1995 and have been lucky enough to spend many of those years in the Pacific, a region I know extremely well. I have also been privileged to oversee the build process of three Mega-Yachts, the most recent being 48mtr award winning Burger, Mirgab V.
In 2002 we launched the 230ft Oceanfast, “Aussie Rules” for golfing great Greg Norman.
Since that time, I have converted my Commercial Captain's qualifications to the British MCA system, and spent 4 years as Captain aboard the 55mtr Lady Fiesta.
CHIEF ENGINEER - Ben
I was born in Cairns, north Queensland, Australia. I’ve always felt lucky to have beautiful reef and lush rainforest on my door step. Free-dive spear fishing and pig hunting have always been and still are my two favorite things to do when home.
Spending my holidays growing up working on commercial line fishing boats from Cairns to the tip of the Great Barrier reef was the result of choosing a trade as a marine refrigeration mechanic.
After 5 years I started as a trainee engineer then sole engineer on prawn trawlers fishing from the north east coast of Australia to northern Western Australia. Growing tired of working with crazy fishermen I traveled overseas and joined my first yacht as a second engineer. Four years later I hold an Australian commercial class 3 engineer ticket and am happy to be working aboard Bullish.
Have a great trip!
Chef - Jason Meakin
I am from Western Australia, where I also completed my trade as a Chef in one of Australia’s foremost restaurants.
I have so much passion and energy for my chosen profession, I love cooking a range of different cuisines; and am never put off by new challenges. My desserts are apparently “out of this world” I hope you will agree also!
This is my 4th year working within the yachting industry, and previously private villas a boutique hotel and even a 3 Michelin star restaurant in Japan.
In my free time you may find me trying to kite board, enjoying scuba diving, or researching new food trends.
I hope you have a great time aboard Bullish and your culinary journey exceeds your expectations. Please come and visit me in the galley and say “G’day”.
FIRST MATE - Cristina
My name is Cristina and I became a blend of three different cultures. I grew up looking at the vast Argentinean fields, discovering exotic Brazil and respecting the old customs of a tiny mountain village in Spain. I studied Biology and did my Masters Degree in Reef Fish Ecology. Because of my studies I started to spend a lot of time on boats, and every time that a research project involved getting on a vessel, I was doubly happy. I started to realize that working on boats was fulfilling my life the most. I love the outdoors and the nature, and consequently any kind of activity that is related to it. I also very much enjoy reading a good book and playing backgammon. I am easily recognized for my big smile, funny accent and excitement for what tomorrow may bring. Bullish is my new home, and I look forward to sharing new adventures with the crew and ensuring that the guests have an amazing time on the yacht.
Chief Stewardess - Jeszell Gooch
Hi, I’m Jeszell. Although born a Kiwi in New Zealand, for most of my childhood I grew up in Western Australia.
My background has always been in Hospitality. I graduated from University with a Business Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management. Since finishing my degree I worked in a variety of hospitality establishments, ranging from boutique hotels, fine dining restaurants, ski resorts, and private villas. The experiences naturally lead me to the Yachting Industry. Where I could continue to work in hospitality as well as travel! I have worked on a several boats throughout the Mediterranean, Caribbean, USA and South America.
I am extremely excited to be aboard Bullish in French Polynesia. I’d like to welcome you aboard, and wish you the most enjoyable vacation in this paradise.
STEWARDESS - Olivia
Kia Ora, my name is Olivia Walford. I grew up in a small rural town called Bulls located on the west coast of the north island, New Zealand. My family’s great love for the outdoors, ocean and boats rubbed off and lead me into an education in the outdoors, from which I specialized in scuba diving. Finding New Zealand waters a wee bit chilly, I headed for Cairns, far north Queensland, Australia. There is where I spent four years working as a dive instructor on the Great Barrier reef and the Coral sea.
Wanting to travel and see more of the world I took a chance at yachting, which I have been enjoying for the past three years. I have traveled and dived some great oceans and am really happy to now have the opportunity to explore the South Pacific.
You can count on me to make sure that you enjoy your stay with us!
DECKHAND - Matt
I represent Mount Maunganui , New Zealand, a popular holiday destination and surfing community. It is also where I was largely involved with surf lifesaving and competitive swimming.
Diving has always been a popular activity in our family, but it was my granddad’s stories of his days working as a commercial diver using the old bell helmets that helped me come to the decision to further my dive career. In 2001 I obtained my dive instructor ticket and I have not looked back since!
Spending four exciting years working in the dive industry at the famous Great Barrier Reef, Australia, I joined Bullish’s sister ship the “Battered Bull” in Florida.
After a year of adventure aboard BB I have now made it to the Bullish family, I am stoked to be here and can’t wait to see what this year brings! I look forward to meeting you onboard the Bullish and assisting you as you explore all the wonderful opportunities that surround us!
