CAPTAIN CRAIG MILNE
Captain Craig Milne grew up on the Island Nation of New Zealand. He is a graduate of Lincoln University New Zealand, having studied Commerce and Management. Captain Craig currently holds a commercially endorsed RYA/MCA Yacht Master Ocean Certificate, and is also a certified diver.
He has been sailing on yachts of various sizes since 1998, starting with dinghy racing at the Mount Pleasant Sailing Club, where he sailed with his wife Jane. As well, they both have sailed in the ocean waters of United Kingdom (Cowes week), St Maarten (Heineken regatta) and much of New Zealand. Craig was also worked with power boats such as Hamilton jet boats in New Zealand
As well, Captain Craig spent two years working as an Operations Manager for a Forestry Company in New Zealand before moving to the UK where he worked as a Diesel Mechanic/Engineer. Since 2004 he has been working in the yachting industry, having done his first transatlantic crossing on a Beneteau 473 from Gibraltar to St Lucia. Arriving in the Caribbean he decided it was the life for him and decided to begin his career in the Charter Yacht Industry. In 2005, Craig moved over to Croatia to skipper 10 sailing yachts, doing back to back charters during the summer season. He has since worked on sailing and motor yachts with many successful charters, and is now delighted to Captain the sailing yacht Runaway Bunny.
Craig’s focus is to maintain the boat to a high standard. He also takes great pride in ensuring that guests enjoy a relaxed and memorable time while on board.
CHEF/MATE JANE MILNE has been Craig’s partner for the last 12 years so she has experienced many of the same sailing adventures and venues. Her experience ranges from small sailing yachts to huge megayachts, having given her a wide perspective of various amenities guests may require.
Jane especially has a passion for cooking, having discovered her talents while working on a farm after her graduation from University. She went on to take courses in both Thai and Vietnamese cuisines and studied for a month at the Gables School of Cookery.
Jane currently holds a RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Offshore, as well as the Day Skipper Practical Certificate. Jane is also a certified diver.
As well as sailing, Jane enjoys diving, swimming, and running and holds a Bachelor of Law degree from Canterbury University in New Zealand. A word traveler, Jane takes delight giving people an experience to remember, whether through her culinary or sailing skills or just through her welcoming personality.
