Captain Eduardo (Dito) Otero is passionate about sailing as any Spaniard or Italian could be. He was an engineering student before he chose a life on the sea. He holds an Italian Offshore License for both power and sail. His early experience includes racing both monohulls and catamarans in the Mediterranean and running his own sailing school in Padua, Italy. He moved to the Dominican Republic where he captained several charter catamarans, while also attending to a family business in Santo Domingo.
Dito has a delightful sense of humor and believes in the “Catbird” philosophy; “safe fun under sail”. He is fluent in Italian, Spanish and English, and will from time to time get into the galley to prepare one of his Italian specialties.
