Crew Profiles: Captain Barrett has been behind the wheel of a boat for the past 40+ years.
He started his experience fishing in and around the San Juan Islands and has traveled to Desolation Sound in British Columbia too many times to remember. He has been with CEO Expeditions for three years. His knowledge of the Alaska waters is excellent. He lived on his boat for over two years, has remodeled, upgraded and outfitted several boats.
He retired from the University of Washington in 2001, after a long and successful career as a department director in the health sciences. After a short "telemedicine" private business adventure, he returned to the Northwest to get back involved with boating full time. He has spent time in the Gulf of Mexico working on boats and traveling in the Bahamas and the Virgin Islands.
He now spends his time divided between skippering activities and doing boat interior custom design work. He has been a commodore of a yacht club and a consultant to boating groups and yachting organizations.
A love of the water and a desire to assist others in their yachting experiences are the driving forces that keep Captain Barrett very busy. At this point in his professional life, a marine career is about enjoyable experiences, working with fun people, and staying happy.
"My goal and personal promise, is to provide you with a satisfactory and economical marine service."
