Alberto Batani
Captain
Alberto comes to M/Y IMPULSIVE with an impressive background and many memories. Originally from Acapulco Mexico, but of French decent, he was raised in Tahiti. There, he earned a Degree in General Electric Mechanics. During his schooling and traveling, Alberto is proud to say that he now speaks five languages; Spanish, English, French, Italian, and Tahitian. During his 20+ years in the industry, Alberto has seen the seas on the Western Pacific, Mexico, Panama, and all the way around to where he intimately knows the Mediterranean. He holds a Merchant 1500 tons License. Some of the yachts he has worked on include M/Y NIRVANA, M/Y BELLA RENA, and M/Y IVANA. IN his free time, Alberto enjoys spending time with his family in the Czech Republic where his wife and twin daughters reside. He also travels to Tahiti where he owns a Black Pearl farm.
Kirk Lafferty
Chef
Originally from New Zealand but now based out of New York, Kirk Lafferty is an International Chef with an artistic flair. His mastering of multiple cuisines comes from 15 years of running various types of restaurants in wineries and establishments all over New Zealand. His philosophy of international cuisine stems from a well grounded base in Italian, French, Asian, and eclectic fusion styles with a belief in mastering the basics then improving on them with the use of the freshest and best products available and the skill that 20 years of experience can offer. With 6 years working as a private and charter yacht Chef in the Caribbean and in Europe, those styles have now been polished to offer the diner meals onboard that compliment the beautiful destinations that the yachts venture to. Also a writer, Kirk’s menus offer an informative and sometimes humorous approach to dining that leave the diner awe inspired and in a delicious state of deep satisfaction. Some of the yachts Kirk has worked on are M/Y KATHERINE, M/Y LA BELLA and M/Y CV9.
Plamen Davidov
First Mate
Plamen was born and raised in Bulgaria. Before entering into the yachting industry, he was a member of the Bulgarian Academy’s rowing team. He began his career in yachting as a Navigational Officer on the M/Y SVILEN RUSSEV, M/Y CHRISTO BOTEV, and M/Y PIONER. Being the hard working, team player that anyone you meet says that he is, Plamen transitioned into his First Mate status with great pride. M/Y TAO, and M/Y ALBAT are two of the previous charter yachts he has worked on. He speaks fluent English, Russian, and Bulgarian. For fun, you can catch Plamen swimming, working out, going to the movies, and listening to music.
Roland Reder
Engineer
Roland was born and raised in a small village outside of Hamburg, Germany. From an early age, he realized he wanted to utilize his interest in Engine mechanics and need to explore the Baltic Seas. He has worked for the past 17 years as a Chief Engineer on Charter Yachts including M/Y XENIA, M/Y SECRET LOVE, and M/Y LADY ALLISON. Prior to working on yachts, he owned and operated a Marine Service Station in San Remo, Italy. Roland has great pride in his work and making sure your time aboard M/Y IMPULSIVE will be safe and sound.
Paula Stanbury
Chief Stewardess
Originally from England, Paula is an accomplished Stewardess with extensive experience on mega yachts in Asia, Australia, the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Mexico, and the US East Coast, Paula has the positive team player attitude to well suit the crew on M/Y IMPULSIVE. Prior to the yachting industry, Paula traveled the world and spent a great deal of time in Phuket, Thailand. Some of her jobs included teaching at an International Pre-School and Dive Instructor. For the past 11 years, some the yachts she has worked on include M/Y POLAR BEAR, M/Y SHALIMAR, and M/Y ROYAL EAGLE. You will be sure that the service she conveys will go above and beyond the expectations of the clients onboard M/Y IMPULSIVE.
Galyna Ivakhiv
Stewardess
Galyna started as a Travel Agent working in the Ukraine. She soon decided to leave her homeland for travel and a change of pace. Since that time she worked on Cruise Ships and Motor Yachts, M/Y DAYDREAM and M/Y FULL BLOOM, sailing throughout the Coastal U.S. and Caribbean. Galyna currently holds a STCW-95 certificate, and several hospitality certificates. She is known for always adding special ‘touches’ to make her charter guests feel very special. Aboard M/Y IMPULSIVE, Galyna’s big smile and friendly service will make you feel very accommodated on your adventure.
