While at university he sailed in both collegiate and IMS regattas. After graduating Greg worked for six years reviewing environmental permits before beginning his career as a yacht captain.
He has sailed extensively along the East Coast of the US, the Caribbean, South Pacific and New Zealand competing in many international regattas on both modern and classic racing yachts. Chef Anna Sloat was born in Sweden and brought up on a traditional schooner. With parents who ran a sailing school, Anna started sailing at a very young age. After finishing school she was ready to live on land for a while and worked as a horse trainer.
Ten years ago Anna went back to sea full time on yachts cruising all over the world. At first she worked on deck but found she really missed cooking. So, it was back to land for a cooking course in England in 1994. Since then she has enjoyed being chef on both private and charter yachts. When not at sea, Anna enjoys horseback riding, polo, snowboarding and all out door sports.
Competent, confident and amiable, Greg and Anna head up a crew devoted to making your time aboard GITANA a delightful vacation, sailing and culinary experience.
