Captain Aurelio Leonessi
A professional skipper ‘da sempre’ - from forever, Capt. Leonessi has captained motor and sailing vessels for almost 30 years. His broad experience includes motor yachts with very active charter schedules, many deliveries across the Atlantic plus one from Italy to Saudi Arabia, several years in the Caribbean and six years chartering in the Med on a very busy Oyster sailing yacht.
Since taking command of La Cardinala in March of 2005, Aurelio has sailed and chartered in the Indian Ocean, the Maldives, Mozambique, Tanzania, Kenya, the Seychelles, Madagascar, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Bali. He holds an Italian Masters License - Sail and Motor, with both commercial and charter endorsements, IMO (International Maritime Organization) License - Sail and Motor and has STCW 95 Certificates in Radar, Sea Survival and Firefighting - Basic and Advanced.
Captain Leonessi speaks and writes Spanish very well and describes his English and French as ‘good.’ He is a non-smoker.
